Young Discoverers to its children, staff and parents feels like family. We spend a lot of time with each other, and it’s our desire to create a home from home, where everyone feels valued, welcomed, safe and happy. They should have every opportunity to reach their best potential, and flourish in the environment. We believe this is the case for every child and every adult in our settings, and there is always an open door. For staff this means that they can talk to management at any time, whether it be about the fabulous things our little people have done, or about their next career step or training opportunity. It also means they are confident in sharing children’s experiences and development with parents, and recognising where we can make a difference. For children, it means they can always have a listening ear from their key person, and care that recognises their achievements, next steps and milestones, and records them for parents to see and contribute to. For parents, it means they are welcome to drop in any time. Before you even join us, we always welcome families to visit without an appointment, so strong is our belief that every moment at Young Discoverers should be special, not just on a pre-arranged time and date. You truly get to see the Nursery or the Before & After School Clubs as they really are. After joining us too, parents can talk to us at any time, and even if it’s not child related, we’ll try and help where we possibly can. (This has even included changing a tyre in the car park!)
Wonderful memories are made when children are at the heart of what we do. We do hope that all the children we care for will leave with genuinely fond memories of the time they had, the people who cared for them, and a real pride in having been a Young Discoverer.
